I agree that senseless killing on a mass scale (by war or companies or government) becomes so overwhelming that it is not processed in the same way as one man committing a murder (OR FOURTEEN) and that punishing the greedy individual without fixing a system based on greed is flawed but this doesn't feel like the story to end with that moral! The fact that Monsieur Verdoux is still talked about years later and that it survived its initial backlash shows that it is truly a great film.
